South Place Hotel - London

Puggy and Pops were lucky enough to be invited to South Place Hotel for a night of premium romance. The hotel is almost pet friendly with the exception of the Michelin star Angler restaurant and the chop house, which we think is fair as we were very welcome to eat and drink in the bars instead. South Place Hotel has been awarded 5 stars for humans, but these doggies needed to see how it fared for the four legged friends! Its a ruff job, but some dogs gotta do it….

The venue is tucked conveniently behind Liverpool street station and is a stones throw away from Moorgate, so getting there is an absolute breeze. The staff greeted them like the superstars they are and showed them to their boutique room. They even had champagne and cakes waiting!

We stayed in the premium double, where the dogs each had their own luxury doggy bed, toys, bowls, bottled water and a welcome pack, with information about the local area and dog friendly spots to visit. The staff were super helpful and made sure their stay was as furbulous as possible.

Pops and Puggy started their adventure by running around the halls of the hotel, which is dripping with interesting multimedia art work. The doggies then took their humans for some drinks in the main bar, which oozed sophistication, even on a quiet Sunday, they had a DJ playing and the overall vibe was gorgeous. Our favourite part of the whole stay was the secret garden, Puggy and Pops liked it so much, they are even considering it as a venue for their wedding reception. The garden has a retractable roof with flowers and plants from floor to ceiling. It is heated to perfection and they provided blankets, sheep skins and table service to make sure we were extra comfy. A few gin cocktails later, the dogs decided to retire to their room for a giant bubble bath for two and a delicious room service dinner. Of course they had steak, then passed out in from of the huge Bang & Olufsen TV.

After being sufficiently spoiled by a room service breakfast, the doggies checked out feeling full and fresh, ready to explore Londons East end.

Top Tip for Hoomans - head on up to the doggy friendly secret garden bar and order one of the specially designed enchanted garden cocktail made with Martin Millers Gin

Top Tip of Doggos - Engage full puppy dog eyes with the hotel staff to receive unlimited belly rubs

Overall Bangers and mash rating - 10/10 would definitely indulge again
