Heading to the big city with your pooch has never been easier or more fun, thanks to Uber Boat by Thames Clippers!

Uber Boat by Thames Clippers has 24 piers dotted all over London, from east to west and it’s a blissful way to travel, commute, take in the views or to just have a fun day out with your pooch – like us!

As ex-Londoners ourselves, we often miss the city and decided to pop back to check out some exciting new places that we haven’t experienced since we moved a few years ago. We also realised we have never taken Puggy to one of our favourite parts of London before – Greenwich Park, so naturally this was the perfect starting point.

Greenwich is so peaceful and beautiful, with huge parks, beautiful monuments, and wonderful places to shop, eat and drink! We started out with a coffee and fresh pastry at the maritime museum (totally dog friendly outdoors), and we sat on the terrace and watched the world go by. We then took Puggy for a little stroll around the Maritime College Grounds, the rolling hills of Greenwich Park, did some shopping in the lanes, went to see the Cutty Sark, and then embarked on our first voyage with Uber Boat by Thames Clippers.

We got an affordable daily River Roamer ticket which allowed us to hop on and off the boats as we pleased which was super convenient and encouraged us to explore other spots we may have otherwise missed! Greenwich Pier is moments from the sights and sounds of Greenwich and we hopped on the soonest westbound boat with ease!

We were lucky enough to get a front seat with incredible views and took the boat all the way to Bankside Pier, passing Docklands, Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf, where we hopped off right next to Millennium bridge that takes you directly to the Tate Modern, St Pauls Cathedral and so much more. We watched a few street performers on Embankment and took in the views over the bridges before hopping right back on the boat to head for some lunch somewhere very exciting! After a short journey through more stunning sights including the London Eye, The Shard, Westminster and more, we were thrilled to end up in Battersea Power Station, a part of London we have never been to but have been desperate to visit for ages! It certainly didn’t disappoint, and the Uber Boat by Thames Clippers pier stopped right outside of the new complex, which is so incredibly dog friendly you can even bring your pooch into M&S food hall! We explored outdoors with deck chairs, sculptures, street food and fun grassy sofas, before mooching around the shops inside the Power Station. Afterwards we stopped off for Tapas and Puggy was treated like a king, with his very own water bowl and seat at the table. Once we refuelled with the most perfect summer lunch, we hopped right back on the boat to take in some more views! It’s such an interesting way to see London, and I was able to enjoy some of the incredible architecture in a way that was never possible before.

By this time the boats were busier but each time we boarded we were told that every passenger is guaranteed a seat, so although at times the boats were full, they never felt overcrowded or unsafe with people standing.

I love that all boats have toilets and most have cafes on board with comfy seating – some with an option to sit outdoors too. It feels far less stressful than other forms of transport and the staff are all incredibly helpful and friendly.

We loved watching the world go by with a delicious coffee from the onboard café bar and took advantage of some incredible photo opportunities, from the comfort of our own seats!

We briefly stopped off at Westminster to grab a quick drink with friends and hopped right back on the boat to head back to Greenwich, our final stop for the day.

The whole day was a breeze, thanks to Uber Boat by Thames Clippers and I highly recommend it to all! The boats were full of people from all walks of life, including tourists, locals, commuters, and the best part - dogs! My only regret is I didn’t discover this service earlier because I can guarantee there is not a more enjoyable way to see the city and get from A to B with your pooch.

Thanks for the ride, Uber Boat by Thames Clippers, Captain Puggy will be seeing you again very soon!
