Your Pet’s Guardian Angel in Your Pocket!

I’m sure I speak for most dog mums (and dads!) out there when I say losing one of my fur babies is my biggest fear.

I’d love to say its irrational, but things do happen and sometimes life doesn’t always go to plan. I often think back to a time I was walking Pops when we lived in London, and something spooked her. She bolted and I spend 15 minutes frantically screaming her name before a lovely lady grabbed her and kept her safe for me. We also had a near miss when Pomegranate was first rescued in Lockdown, when she bolted out the front door during a delivery. Cue my husband and I chasing her down the street, trying to coax her back with chicken! Thankfully both instances were solved within moments but that fear lives rent free in my heart and soul!

Of course, my pooches all have name tags with my details on them, and yes, they are microchipped. But what if a tag came loose, rusted, or fell off? What if there was a solution for a durable, waterproof tag brand that stores all their vital information and connects you if they are lost or ran away? Then keep reading because your mind will be blown just like mine was when I discovered Petcode.

Petcode in a nutshell is a revolutionary digital pet tag. Equipped with advanced NFC and QR Code technology, ensuring your beloved companion is always identifiable and protected if the worst should happen.

Aesthetically, Petcode tags are perfect. Choose from a resin disk or a silicone loop in so many different colours to suit your pooch’s personality. I use a mix of both designs for my pooches, Puggy and YumYum have the resin tags in black and khaki, whilst Pops and Sugar the dachshunds prefer the silicone loops which fit so well onto their collar, without jingling around. Pomegranate uses both, depending on her harness or collar choice on the day.

The tags look awesome, and they are waterproof and ultra durable, with a clever QR code that is forever linked to the app on my iPhone giving me complete peace of mind with instant alerts and live location tracking.

When someone scans my pet’s tag, I’ll receive instant notifications, and my emergency contacts can also access the tag’s scanned location. So, my husband and I can be connected and communicate confidently and securely with Petcode’s smart automated system.

When your pet’s tag is scanned and someone contacts the displayed number, Petcode’s unique service goes above and beyond to simultaneously notify all emergency contacts listed, never revealing any contact numbers to the caller ensuring your privacy.

If in the unlikely event, a call is unanswered, the caller can leave a secure voicemail, which is stored in your Petcode account. You can access and listen to these messages at any time, providing you with essential information even if you missed the initial call.

Petcode’s smart technology also utilises the GPS capabilities of the person’s device that scans the tag too. So as soon as a tag is scanned, you receive an accurate location, ensuring prompt action can be taken. This is ideal to keep track of them in an emergency and no more depending on charging their unreliable GPS pet trackers.

Admittedly, I’m not great with tech, and I can get overwhelmed with setting up and maintaining smart devices and apps, but Petcode was super simple from the get-go. It’s easy to order online and once I downloaded the app; I had set up profiles and connected the tags for all five of my dogs in less than five minutes!

Each dog has their own section, connected to their own designated tags and I was able to include a photo, their names, ages, personality traits, medical notes and vet details. I can update this information at any time and there’s even a ‘reminders’ feature to help me keep track of their annual vaccinations and any important dates, super handy if you’re a multi pet household, or just super forgetful like me!

I would have thought such a smart piece of tech would be expensive, but I was thrilled to discover Petcode tags are more affordable than many standard tags out there. Subscription is just £12 per year which I think is an absolute steal considering the peace of mind it brings and everything they offer us pet parents, especially if you have multiple pooches, deaf and less abled dogs like my Puggy, senior dogs like Pops or unpredictable rescues like Sugar and Pomegranate.

For me, Petcode tags have been a game changer and one of those rare pet products you don’t know how you ever lived without. I love how they look, how they perform, the ease of use, durability and convenience, but above all, I love that they always keep me connected to my precious fur babies!
