South Place Hotel x Radley - Doggy afternoon tea

When we were invited to try the brand spanking new dog friendly afternoon tea at South Place Hotel, Puggy and Pops thought all their Christmases came early!

This summer, the 5 star South Place Hotel is inviting pooches and their humans to the fabulously British afternoon tea, inspired by Radley’s new collection “Fall in Love”.

As huge fans of South Place Hotel (where Puggy and Pops spent their honeymoon), and long term lovers of Radley bags, we were thrilled to be gifted such an indulgent treat in one of our favourite venues, South Place's secret garden.

We arrived and were seated in the garden room, with the roof entirely open. With flowers and plants draped everywhere and sunshine beaming in, we quickly got to work taking photos so we could get stuck in when the feast arrived!

The venue, as always, was perfect, a dreamy fantasy land with the most immaculate and attentive staff. The new Radley collection was displayed for us to see and already have my eyes on a few bits and bobs….

When the tea and cakes came out, we were amazed at the attention to detail. The classic Radley motifs on the china crockery, Scottie dog shaped cakes and even a mini two tier dog friendly selection for Puggy and Pops, made by the Barking Bakery.

The human menu was created by ‘Bake off: The Professionals’ finalist, Nelson Barros and certainly did not disappoint. We won’t spoil the suprise and tell you exactly what sarnies and sweet treats there were, but our humans personal favourite was the decadent red velvet handbag cake. Absolutely gorgeous!

Pops is known for being a fussy little minx, while Puggy will literally eat everything. But to our surprise they both shared the goodies and even picky Pops was left begging for more! There was a lot of treats for both humans and doggies, and it was no trouble for the waiter to send us away with a little box of leftovers to enjoy later on.

The venue is so dog friendly, that dogs are allowed on seats and all given their own waterbowls and lots of head scratches, it was the perfect place to enjoy a summers afternoon, away from the hustle and bustle of the Capital, with your best four legged friend by your side.

If you’re in the mood to spoil yourself AND your pooch, then head on over to South Place Hotel, on selected Weekends throughout August.
