Vet-endorsed joint care and support supplements for adult and senior dogs
As you probably know by now, our pack have been huge fans of Harringtons treats for a while now, so we were very happy to try out their new range of joint support supplements that recently launched.
Our pooches, Puggy Smalls, Pop Sausage, Pugyay and Pomegranate are all so different in every way. They are different ages, breeds, personality, weight etc… so it’s notoriously tricky to find a ‘one size fits all’ supplement that they all can enjoy and benefit from.
That’s why we really rate the Harringtons Advanced Science joint supplements – jam packed with joint benefiting super ingredients, and we can’t wait to tell you all about them!
Our pack (apart from Pugyay as he is only 8 months) have been taking these supplements daily for over 6 weeks now, and we are so happy with the results that we have set up a subscription, so we never run out again!
Our senior Dachshund, Miss Pops was the most obvious candidate for joint support, and they certainly didn’t disappoint! Pops is a rescue pooch who has a rough start in life. She suffers with arthritis and is getting stiffer and creakier as she approaches her 11th birthday. Pops is also a two-time survivor of IVDD, a spinal disease common in dachshunds, which causes disks to calcify. She has been paralysed twice but following successful specialist surgeries, has made a miraculous recovery! Naturally with age, and spinal trauma, little Pops will always suffer ‘flare ups’, particularly in the colder months, so we are thrilled to have discovered Harringtons senior supplements just before winter sets in to keep her limber and as mobile as possible.
Pops is notoriously fussy and turns her nose up at most pills and capsules. Harringtons have considered this, and these incredible senior supplements come in a tasty chew form, that Pops gobble up even faster than her favourite treats! They can also be easily broken, which is great for smaller pooches, or just those who like to take smaller bites!
Harringtons Advanced Science Diet chews are a veterinary-approved supplement designed to promote joint care in senior dogs aged 7+ years. As Pops weighs a tiny 4.7kg, she takes just one chew per day as recommended and we have noticed a real change in her ever since. With a highly concentrated formula of Green-lipped mussel, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Glucosamine and Manganese, Pops’ little joints are nurtured and being kept as supple and healthy as possible.
Pops seems to have more energy and even initiates playtime with our 8-month-old pup! We haven’t had a single flare up or ‘limpy day’ since starting her on these and even her hydro therapists have noticed a change. In the past month, her sessions on the water treadmill have been faster and longer than ever before, which makes my heart sing!
The senior joint care chew is also available in an easy to swallow tablet form if that’s what your pooch would prefer!
Puggy is our 7-year-old Pug who has also been unlucky with his health. He attends weekly laser and hydrotherapy sessions to help his joint pain and weakness in his hind legs, so we like to give him the best head start with the Harringtons adult supplement tablets.
These vet approved, easy to swallow tablets are perfect! They taste fishy and so delicious to our boy, that he gobbles them up without us needing to crush them or hide them in cheese!
These have performed so well for Puggy that we have been discharged from laser therapy, and again his hydro therapists have noticed a real improvement to his flexibility and movement.
With the exact same benefits as the chews, the adult tablets are recommended to all poches from 1-7 years. When Puggy turns 8, we will be changing things up to the senior version, to ensure his joints are in the best possible shape as he gets older.
Lastly, we have Pomegranate. She’s an incredibly bouncy 5-year-old Pomeranian with endless energy who loves adventures, long walks and zoomies. Although she has no specific health issues and is young and very fit, we choose to give her the adult supplement chew daily, to ensure she can stay as young and carefree for as long as possible.
As a dedicated dog owner who wants nothing but the best for my pack, I really can’t recommend these enough. We have tried just about every supplement on the market and can safely day these have been the most versatile and beneficial to our pooches.
We will continue giving these to our dogs every day and the moment our puppy, Pugyay turns one, we will be giving them to him, to ensure longevity and a happy healthy life for him as he ventures into adulthood!
