Wellness CORE Pet Food review
Wellness CORE is a Crufts-winning dog food brand. And they believe that pets well-being starts from the core. We have been long term fans of their range of treats and after a very successful taste test, we decided to feed our pack Wellness Core food.
As a household with four dogs, all different breeds, ailments, ages and tastes, it’s always bee super tricky finding a ‘one size fits all’ food option that benefits them all. So, we were chuffed to bits when we discovered Wellness CORE suits them all and the best part – they LOVE it! In fact, I’ve never seen them enjoy their food more, which is quite a statement considering they are all so wildly different!
Wellness CORE is a dog food passionately crafted with all natural, high-quality balanced nutrition that not only tastes great but also takes care of your pet from the inside. All recipes are grain free, protein rich, moderate in fat and low in carbs. There are no artificial ingredients, flavours, or preservatives. They simply balance the best ingredients from nature to let your companion thrive from their core!
First off, we have Pops, the fussiest senior dachshund in the world! Pops is a rescue and as a result of abuse, malnourishment and neglect in her early years, has some issues with her teeth and digestion. She is now completely adored, and we want to ensure we make her as happy and healthy as possible, starting with her diet! Over the years we have tried SO MANY dog food brands, and pops will either refuse to eat it, or it will give her a bad tummy. Wellness CORE have changed the game for Pops, and it’s been so heart-warming watching her run to the kitchen at meal times and gobble down every last mouthful.
Pops is currently eating the small flavour medley trays mixed with a little dry food as we like her to have different textures and ensure she gets her older teeth working! She has never been happier or more content and I can’t thank this brand enough for making our little old lady so full of beans!
Wellness CORE Small Breed Savoury Medleys Farmer medleys are wet dog food recipes specifically geared towards small pooches like our tiny 4.5kg Pops!
Wellness CORE Small Breed Savoury Medleys can be fed alone as a complete wet meal, or as part of a mixed diet with a crunchy, Wellness CORE kibble.
Packed full of protein, each recipe is a smooth pate of tender meat cuts, mixed with wholesome vegetables in a delicious savoury sauce to give your dog a variety of texture in their meal.
As always, the Wellness CORE Small Breed Savoury Medleys recipes are grain free, so are suitable for dogs who may have stomach sensitivities like Pops. Since transitioning to the Medleys, combined with the senior specific dry food, Pops has been thriving without a single tummy upset!
Next up, or gorgeous pugs! Puggy Smalls is 8 years old and a little on the chunky side, so this big boy has a specially formatted Wellness CORE low fat dry food combined with the mouth-watering wet food which he adores! We are also very keen to try the fish recipe next as its jam packed with Omegas which will be great for his mobility and spinal issues. Puggy’s weight has forever been an issue and we have struggled to regulate it in the past, but after just one month chomping Wellness CORE wet and dry, he has started to look trimmer and has heaps more energy for walkies!
Our 1-year-old Pug, YumYum is fed the exact same combo as Puggy and it’s suiting them both so well! YumYum is a high energy pooch with some stomach sensitivities, but since we have switched to Wellness CORE, all his stools have been firm and he’s incredibly happy at mealtimes. YumYum’s favourite is the Turkey, Goat and sweet potato wet food mixed with the small breed turkey dry food. There are also many single protein wet food varieties available, perfect for dogs with specific protein allergies!

Lastly, Pomegranate. Our rescue Pomeranian who has just turned 6. It was no surprise to us that, like the others, she is obsessed with her Wellness CORE meals and has been eating wellness core dry food mixed with the wet food twice a day.
Wellness CORE Small Breed Grain Free Adult Dry Dog Food is designed specifically for small breed adult dogs, supporting healthy weight, skin and coat in your smaller four-legged friends.
This easily digestible dry dog food is suitable for small breed adult dogs aged over one year and can be fed alone as a complete dry meal or mixed with a small breed wet food recipe as part of a mixed feeding diet.
With so many recipe options, we are so excited to introduce more flavour combinations to the pack and see how they benefit more as time goes by with Wellness CORE as their complete diet.
Wellness CORE food is all grain free without any gelling agents or thickeners. With so many vitamins and minerals packed into each meal, it’s a breath of fresh air for me as their owner, to know I’m feeding them a heathy, wholesome diet that they all love so much!
I cannot rate the Wellness CORE dry food, wet food and flavour medleys highly enough and my only regret is not making the change sooner!
