Animal Friends Insurance – A Wildly Different Xmas Tail – Vote now!
Sponsored post
Join me in taking part in the Animal Friends Insurance ‘A Wildly Different Xmas Tail’ this festive season and help to rewrite the stories of so many UK pets in need.
My five dogs mean the absolute world to me, each of them with a wildly different story to tell. Whether its Pops and Pomegranate’s journey from being rescued from malnourishment, abuse and neglect in puppy farms, or Brown Sugar flying 6000 miles from China where she was kept in appalling conditions in the dog meat trade before we rescued her. We also have our gorgeous Pugs, YumYum who is an anxious little guy, and our big brave lad, Mr Puggy Smalls who has been through so much in life, but still has a skip in his (wheelie) step!
I’m immensely proud of them all, but Puggy is my miracle boy. He’s battled cancer and won multiple times, he’s gone completely deaf, and he has a spinal condition called Myelopathy, which causes back leg paralysis and double incontinence. These symptoms happened suddenly and Puggy lost sensation in his back end rapidly. He wasn’t in any pain, and I knew I could offer him a wonderful quality of life, we just needed to make a few adjustments to our routines.
Sure, we went through lots of floor cleaner, and countless vet trips and walking aids before getting it quite right. But two years on and my handsome, brave Puggy is thriving! We have learned to express his bladder and have a strict food and toilet routine, so accidents are now few and far between, he wears doggy diapers at nighttime, and we have the best waterproof blankets to ensure he is comfortable and never smelly! We have found supplements that work for him as well as some incredible custom wheels and booties so he can go for walkies just like our other dogs, and believe me when I say, he can outrun them all! Owning a less abled pet does have a stigma, but if us owners just take a little time to research and understand their different needs, pets like Puggy can go on to live fulfilled, engaged, beautiful lives and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
So, when I heard about the Wildly Different Xmas Tail campaign that Animal Friends Insurance is behind this festive season, it tugged on every heart string I have, as it made me feel so sad knowing not all pets are as lucky as Puggy and have a support network that they can depend on, no matter what. I will always be there for my dog squad, even in their darkest hours as I believe that’s what all animals deserve, but sadly this isn’t the reality.
Thankfully, there is support out there and some beautiful, unsung charities are working tirelessly to help all the animals they can. This is where the Wildly Different Xmas Tail comes in and I wanted to shout it from the rooftops as it made my heart warmer than Santa’s booties!
This Christmas, Animal Friends Insurance is celebrating five extraordinary charities, doing extraordinary things for extraordinary animals, with a shared passion for creating happier tails for everyone, however their story began.
Animal Friends Insurance has £100,000 to share among five extraordinary UK charities, in support of their tireless efforts to create even more happy-ever-afters, filled with hope, comfort and joy.
Although I’m a passionate dog Mumma, I’m an animal lover above all else and these five wonderful charities all have so much to offer!
Wolfie’s Legacy
Dedicated to rehabilitating and rehoming dogs from all over the world, with varying degrees of disability.
Retraining of Racehorses`
Helping retired racehorses find new purpose and loving homes.
Forgotten Felines`
Turning frightened and lonely hisses into kisses by rehoming the “unhomeable”
Refuge 4 Pets`
Providing a pet fostering service across Devon and Cornwall to victims of domestic abuse so they can leave with their pets.
Blind Dogs Rescue UK
A charity rescuing blind and partially sighted dogs throughout Europe.
Head to the Animal Friends Insurance voting page anytime until December 15th, 2024, to vote for FREE for the charity you love the most. I know, it’s almost impossible to choose as they all do such incredible things, but don’t worry, because in the spirit of Christmas, no-one misses out! The charity with the most votes could win up to £50,000 towards writing even more happy-ever-afters, with the charity coming in second place receiving a £20,000 donation, and the remaining three, £10,000 each! Just imagine how many animals’ lives can be saved and changed, and all we need to do is cast a free vote!
Just like my fur babies, all these animals deserve a second chance and a loving home, and your vote can make that happen for so many.
I’m still struggling to choose a charity as they all resonate with me so much, so I’m asking friends, family, followers and even the postman to get involved, vote, share, and make a difference this Christmas!
If this doesn’t warm your heart up on a cold winter’s day then I don’t know what will, as this campaign has really injected some feel-good magic into my Christmas, and I’m so excited to see the results on the 20th of December!
