Dishoom - Shoreditch, London
Pops and Puggy recently decided to treat their humans to brunch at Dishoom in Shoreditch.
Strictly speaking, the restaurant is not completely dog friendly. However they have a large verandah area with heaters, plants and a retractable roof and the dogs were most welcome there.
Dishoom pays homage to Irani cafes of Bombay. Its dreamy, romantic, chic and vibrant with a relaxed energy and the most interesting, delicious menu you could imagine
We received the warmest welcome from the staff and were shown to our table on the verandah. With abundances of plants and gorgeous decor, we were instantly transported into another world, far from the hustle and bustle of East London. We were lucky enough to visit on a sunny Tuesday afternoon, so there was no wait for a table and the service was wonderful.
The waitress took her time to offer recommendations and explain the menu in full to the humans. Both doggies were offered a bowl of fresh water and the staff proudly wore puggy smalls stickers for the duration of our meal.
We ordered everything the waitress recommended and we were not disappointed. The food arrived at different times in a tapas style and we lingered at our own pace and enjoyed every minute. The food was modern and fuss free, with taste and quality being the focal point. Our personal favourite was the gunpowder potatoes and the chicken ruby curry. Not to mention the best chai i have ever drank in my life.
The prices are affordable and menu caters for all levels of hunger! All in all, one of the loveliest meals I’ve had in this city, with my dogs by side in the sunshine. Bliss.
top tip - they only accept reservations during day times, in the evenings it is a walk in service only, unless your group is larger than 6 people, be prepared to queue on busy times, but trust me, good things come to those who wait!
Snackies out of ten? 9/10 would bombay again! (it would be a complete ten is the venue was wholly dog friendly)
