Butternut Box - Freshly Prepared Dog Food
Butternut box is food subscription service, delivered to your door every two weeks.
Pops is part of the influencer programme and we are lucky enough to get the food sent to us in exchange for honest reviews and Instagram stories, but i thought id share it on here as its a product we truly couldn’t be without.
For those of you who don’t know, Pops is a rescue dog, who came from a very abusive past in a puppy farm. She was used to over breed, she was abused and malnourished for 3 years. She is now a happy girl, living her best life with me in London, but there are still a few ongoing heath issues which stem from her horrible past.
For a long time, i assumed she was a fussy dog, but it turns out she has some digestion problems. She also had to have most of her teeth removed due to neglect and trauma, so she struggles eating anything too crunchy. Because she wasn’t eating her meals before, her skin and coat suffered and she was dull with bald patches.
Butternut box came along and changed everything. For the first time, Pops wags her little tail and lets me know when she’s hungry. She eagerly waits by the fridge door at meal times and eats every single bit, every single time. Ive noticed her coat is fuller and more shiny and she has lots more energy.
Its an easy process, a chilled box of human grade food is delivered directly to us each fortnight, we then decant into the freezer. It takes up one drawer in the freezer and every few days we take out some pouches to defrost. Each day, she eats a total of one full pouch, half in the morning and half in the evening. Each pouch has been specially cooked and weighed for each dogs individual requirements. They have four flavours, chicken, turkey, beef and lamb which smell surprisingly delicious! We opt for a selection to keep things ingesting for Pops, but her favourite is the ‘Wham Bam Lamb”.
The team over at Butternut are all so gorgeous and helpful, we always make an effort to find them at every doggy event and they always have loads of advice and belly rubs for Pops!
People often ask me “if you didn’t get the food for free, would you still feed her Butternut” and of course the answer is without a doubt, YES! And if i ever get another dog in the future, i would be feeding them nothing else!
Snackies out of ten? 10/10 would munch again. and again. again.
