Celebrating National Pet Dental Health Month with Whimzees!

Did you know, February is National Pet Dental Health Month? Created by the American Veterinary Medical Association to highlight how important oral health is to overall health, happiness, and wellbeing of your pet.

As a dog mum of four pooches, I must admit I find it hard to keep up with daily tooth cleaning sessions. Life is busy and it can be very tricky, especially with a senior dog, a deaf dog, an anxious rescue, and a very hyperactive pup!

Of course, I try my best and usually manage a few times a week, but I get great comfort giving them a Whimzees every day, as a supplemental dental chew, proven to be effective in fighting plaque and controlling tartar.

All four dogs, even Pops, our senior dachshund who is notoriously fussy adores their daily Whimzees chews. We feed them a varied selection ranging from the Antlers, toothbrushes, and Alligator shapes, so they never get bored!

Our one-year-old pug pup, YumYum has recently graduated from the Whimzees puppy chews to the small sized chews, as he now has all his adult teeth. The puppy versions have all the benefits of the adult chews, just slightly softer for smaller, developing mouths. It was the first chew we ever introduced him to, and he’s been obsessed ever since, so it’s safe to say, we will be giving him a daily Whimzees for life, as he deserves it, and the benefits are staggering.

Puggy is our older pug, he’s just turned 8 and Pomegranate is a very anxious rescue who is approximately 6 years old, and their breath is always fresh, thanks to Whimzees! Pops is an 11-year-old rescue dachshund who suffered years of neglect before we found her and sadly had to have a dental surgery when she was 4 to scale and polish her teeth and have multiple extractions. Now, even with fewer, older teeth, she chomps her way through these long-lasting chews with ease and is always ready for more! Having to put Pops under general anaesthetic for a dental was a very scary time and could have easily been prevented or prolonged if her dental health was prioritised from a pup. Therefore, we make sure they are all given regular brushes and daily Whimzees chews to keep their mouths as healthy as possible.

These chews aren’t just an excellent way to improve your dog’s dental health. They help with Pomegranates anxiety, and they all tend to unwind after their evening meal with a Whimzees and all fall asleep straight after. The chews are long lasting, GMo free, Gluten free and grain free, as well as being vegetarian. They also come in a super handy Velcro press-lok pack, so you can keep them fresh and store them away nicely.

It’s easy to ensure you are feeding your dog the correct Whimzees chew as the packaging has a clear guide according to the size of your pooch. Lucky for us, all four doggos fall into the ‘Small’ size chews so we can pick and mix easily, and they all get to choose which shape they would like.

Whimzees dental chews are made with all natural, limited ingredients and free from any artificial colours, flavours, or preservatives, so they are even suitable for pooches with sensitive tummies.

Making oral care a priority in our household has been a blessing, we have a happy, healthy pack of pooches and I welcome their fresh-breath smooches anytime!

We highly recommend Whimzees dental chews as a long-term daily treat and health benefit for your pooch.
